Cool Hack For Training

while in the back ground his sister Raegan is pumping out pushups with my daughter ( she’s getting ready for her workout … I make all kids do a full body workout before their lessons).

One of the big concepts to earning anything life is “time under pressure”…

for example, in fitness…how long your lifting the object with 10 quick reps that are done in 10 seconds or 10 … 4 second reps that are done in 40 seconds.

Literally one rep if the second group is worth 4 sets of the 10 second exercise.

The same thing goes with “Slow-is-Smooth” practice…

Which is what I am doing with Ryder in the picture.

Right now I am spending more time at the end of his kick to wire in how it feels when completing a fully extended side kick.

Just by holding the position for 10 seconds, it will be better than doing 10 kicks.

Through the concept of time under pressure you can easily make leap and bounds in your training.

If you don’t have a heavy weight gi like the one I am using you can simple roll up a towel throw It over your pull up bar or branch out side and practicing pull ups.. once you get the hang of it, you can invert yourself like I did and practicing your omote sankaku while supporting all your bodyweight with your tendon strength.

Performing “Dragon Whips its Tail” to Another black belt in the dojo.

“Dragon Whips its Tail” is a Famous Quote by a Mr. Bruce lee.

I Remembered as a Kid Watching Bruce Lee Movies Growing up, in this case the name of the movie is “The Way of The Dragon”…

I don’t know if you watched it, but I remember one of my favorite scenes is when Bruce is in an alley and is taking on a gang of dudes…

Out of no where Bruce performs this lighting fast, spinning kick and knocks a guy on his booty.

Then afterwards he slightly “taunts” slash “teaches” the man after each strike he uses…

He calls out the technique after each strike…In This case… “Dragon Whips its Tail.”

It was the first spinning kick I every saw of its kind growing up and it still stuck with me to this day.

What’s interesting is we teach this move on your first rank… It only takes a couple seconds for me to teach you the exact steps to follow so you can easily perform it in one lesson…

However the timing and distance required to use on a high level opponent takes a good couple months of practice.

Josiah landed it perfect, and I don’t know if you can tell but he landed it on the “Avocados”… 🥑

Beautiful executed and I thought it would make for an awesome birthday present.

I am an adrenaline junky.

I love Rock climbing.

I Love White Water Kayaking.

I love 4×4 in my CJ-8 Jeep.

(Technically its not “sparring” it’s more like simulating the deaths of your best friends, but that doesn’t sound politically correct)
